How to Recognize Someone Born Under Aries

From the very first meeting, an Aries greets you with a warm handshake and smiles at you with genuine affection. The face is oval, the forehead prominent and the nose fine. On the whole, the features are sharp and strikingly well defined. In conversation they may seem calm, but once stirred they become passionate about their idea. Their movements are quick, and they cannot hide their impressions: the eyes mirror their feelings, and the face announces what is stirring inside.

The Arien walks with a slight stoop, and one born under Aries rarely tends toward plumpness, for their nervous energy helps them keep their slenderness.

Has the image of someone with these features, who behaves in just this way, crossed your mind? Ask them. They may well be an Aries..

General Traits of Aries

The sign of Aries symbolizes birth, or a childhood that is forever optimistic and happy. Just as a child forgets the world around them and loses themselves in their own fingers and toes, so does the Aries. We find them orbiting around themselves, concerned with their own needs first and last. If they set out after something, they will do the impossible to reach it. The world matters in their eyes only as far as it is bound up with their own being and existence. Is it selfishness? Yes, if we consider children selfish. The truth is that this person does not fully realize what they are doing. They have the innocence of a child, an innocence that excuses the aggressiveness for which they are known.

Innocence or naivety? No matter! It is the quality that keeps them safe from fear. The Aries fears no one and nothing until harm has actually befallen them. Even then, they forget quickly and fall into the same experience anew. They are honest and not deceitful, they believe in people and circumstances, and they hate lying, even while clinging to dreams and illusions. Beyond that, we see them answer provocation or confrontation with shouting and noise, because they do not know the art of beating around the bush. Among their virtues is their attachment to ideals. They defend their principles with all their strength. And since they are free in conscience and opinion, we see them carrying the sword of truth in their hand, fighting treachery and injustice wherever they are found.

Let us ask: is the Aries truly weak? If so, their weakness is of a special kind, for they would rather die than appear defeated. When they are hurt, they weep on the inside. Their tears are precious and appear only in rare cases, when their pain exceeds the limit of endurance.

In the field of work, their place is at the top. If circumstances thwart them and they do not reach it, signs of resentment and distress appear in them. They intensely hate being a subordinate or taking orders.

Freedom and individualism dominate their stances. They give generously of their time, money and possessions, though they lack humility, gentleness and tact. They are also short on patience and quick to criticize. When they find themselves in a public place – a restaurant, a café or a hotel, for instance – they do not hesitate to grumble and complain, though in the end they give lavishly without keeping count.

The boldness of the Aries is both puzzling and astonishing: while we see them forging their path with resolve, steadiness and defiance of every danger, we find them trembling and shrinking before physical pain. For example, they go to the dentist only under compulsion. And since Aries is so full of optimism, it can quickly overcome chronic illnesses and the aches that stem from gloom and depression. Besides that, they are energetic and tireless, loading themselves with more than they can bear, even if it brings them to the point of collapse.

Among the qualities this person lacks are diplomacy, cunning and tact, though it is not unlikely that they will acquire them in time, after many harsh experiences. Wealth does not come to them easily, yet they often help others reap it. It is rare for them to own a house or real estate. If money runs dry in their hands, they feel no sorrow, because their goals are many and money is not the first of them. Although they are the center of their own world, they have a warm, giving spirit that is rarely found in the other signs. If forced to choose between money and standing, they choose standing. They love praise and commendation, and they carry the banner of realism and idealism at once. They are also quick to anger and quick to forget and calm down. They believe in miracles and refuse failure. They have reserves of energy and toil that exhaust those around them. If they want calm and seriousness, they succeed in acquiring them, but they rarely seek them before old age or at least full maturity. The Aries is also skilled at imposing their opinions on others and winning public opinion to their side, yet they fail at politics. And if some born under this sign are found among the great politicians of the world, they are in truth regarded as distinguished in business, the creative arts, planning and design.

In friendship, they are a loyal lover of their friends, generous of soul and hand, especially when they meet a response from others. They give of their money, effort and time, and expect thanks and appreciation in return. Among their virtues is that they never hesitate to render a service, even if they do not receive the recognition due.

Their other traits are perseverance and daring, like the brave commander who leads the troops onto the battlefield. Their solid nature guarantees them certain success and a long, full life. In short, they are the torch that lights the way for all who, like them, believe in principles and ideals.

The Aries Man

If we study closely a working electric generator, or a blazing torch, or a bomb at the moment of explosion, we can form a general idea of this type of man. He is without rival the man of excitement, though the woman who seeks stability would do well to keep out of his path. At times he is aflame with passion, at others cold as a polar bear. If he truly falls in love, he plunges in up to his ears, and if that love is shattered for some reason, he does all he can to gather its scattered pieces and pour them into a new mold. If that proves impossible, he drops the matter for good and goes searching for a new source of inspiration.

He does not lack the means to express his true feelings. Absent-mindedness, sighs and poetry... everything is permissible and possible. What matters is that he reveals himself completely and does not stop halfway, for half measures are not among his principles.

Devotion is his guide, and no one rivals him in this field. Since honesty is his principle, he stays faithful to the one he loves even in thought. His romantic aims are marked by nobility and seriousness, going beyond a passing affair or the satisfaction of instincts. In return, he asks the woman he loves to live up to his good opinion, to make an effort to please him, attract him and keep him for as long as possible. If she fails, he leaves her behind and goes looking for another who will satisfy his ardent emotional temperament.

Which weapon works on this man? If a woman resorts to open, undisguised flirtation, he runs thousands of miles away. He also runs if she so much as glances at another man, because jealousy and possessiveness are among his chief traits. And though he expects complete faithfulness from his beloved, he refuses – at least outwardly – to return it in kind. According to his belief, he is compelled to maintain certain innocent relationships that his profession and social standing impose on him.

This man is a rebel by nature. He loves to challenge authority, believing himself cleverer and more eloquent than those who hold it. Trouble often befalls him because he will not submit to others and prefers the role of master to that of follower. It is not unlikely that some will try to teach him harsh lessons in humility and compliance. On this note, the woman whom the Aries man loves should always stand beside him against his enemies, love whom he loves and hate whom he hates, if she truly wants to keep him for as long as possible.

We said before that the one born under Aries knows nothing of lying and trickery, and follows the direct approach in all his movements and conduct. In love, for example, it is impossible for him to pretend once his feeling cools, because everything in him then points to the truth of how he feels: coldness shows in his voice and his glances, and he is wrapped in boredom and impatience. Yet he is noble in spite of everything. If a misunderstanding arises between him and his beloved, he hurries to apologize even when he is in the right. In ordinary times he showers her with praise and compliments, stays at her bedside when she is ill, and does not hesitate to spend on her with extreme generosity. He wishes her to be a woman in every sense of the word, and at the same time he nurtures in her a spirit of independence and individuality, provided she does not overstep her bounds and take the place of precedence that is his alone by right. Though he does not entirely mean what he says. And since storms pass over him with astonishing speed without leaving a trace, he expects his beloved to forget and forgive no matter how deep the sorrow he caused her. So the one born under Aries has only two possibilities: either to rule, or to leave home and never return. His wife, for her part, must not be more passive or shy than necessary.

This man's generosity is unrivaled. He begrudges his beloved nothing, however scarce his means and resources. It is better for her, then, to lend a hand in her turn and save even a little, to surprise him with it in time of need. And how many times of need there are for an Aries man! Proof enough is his belief in the saying: “Spend what is in your pocket, and what is in the unseen will come to you.”

The Aries man, as a father, is tender and loving. He looks after his children, cares for them and provides them with every opportunity for fun and play. He chats with them and shares their hobbies, sports, outings and more. He often invites them to lunch or dinner at the finest public places. Strangely, despite this affection, he hates it when his wife neglects him for their sake.

His wife can work outside the home. He has no objection, provided she remains feminine, gentle and attentive to him. His own independence, however, is sacred, and she has no right to discuss it from near or far. Yet she – if she has some intelligence and sense – can step into his affairs at the right moment, and thus guide him in a tactful way that makes him feel he is still the master who is obeyed.

The moment the Aries discovers that he has lost his authority and control, whether at home or at work, he withdraws into himself and becomes devoid of optimism and vitality. He is without doubt the emblem of true manhood, and he deserves a distinctive kind of woman. His ideal woman stands between one who knows nothing of her world but clubs and societies and one who is content to knit wool in a corner of the house. Once he finds the one he has been seeking, he becomes the foremost of lovers and makes his beloved the happiest of women.

The Aries Woman

We cannot tell whether the lover of this woman deserves congratulations or pity, for a good reason: two main forces constantly contend within her nature. On one side, love is her first cause and the secret of her existence; on the other, she cannot neglect for a single moment the world around her, or herself in particular. She is able – more than any other woman – to do without a man entirely. That does not mean she accepts a dryness of heart and a poverty of feeling. On the contrary, she dreams of love and constantly imagines the most poetic scenes, even if she has not managed to bring them to life through any particular man.

Her independent, solitary nature allows her to rely on herself in all kinds of daily tasks and duties. Deep down she feels she is the stronger party, so she does not hesitate to tell a man frankly how she feels, especially if he seems the slow, hesitant type. But if the initiative comes from him, it is not unlikely that she will take to her heels, not out of dislike for him but out of fear for herself of the boredom or bondage that might threaten her in the future. She has a remarkable capacity for endurance and resistance. She can face an entire army for the sake of a goal or a person she believes in and wishes to win. She permits herself every method and means. If she fails time after time, she continues her struggle with patience and perseverance, believing in the wisdom that says: “Tomorrow is near for those who watch for it.”

This fully feminine woman can converse, reproach, caress, and weep bitterly if need be, just as she can do all of a man’s work if necessity requires. Among her best qualities are honesty, optimism, devotion, combativeness and faith in tomorrow. She is content with moderate emotion from a man. She does not wish him cold as ice, nor a lovesick fool who has lost his dignity. She gives him her respect if he deserves it, without letting her personality dissolve in his crucible. She asks much of him and gives him many times what she receives. She is generous with her money and time, yet miserly to the point of stinginess where the one she loves is concerned. She refuses to let him go or to let anyone share him with her, even by a glance.

Her love depends on her consent. If her dignity is touched, her fire turns to frost and her eagerness to indifference. Besides that, she prefers the company of men to that of women, and she is delighted to be surrounded by admirers. Her belief in freedom does not mean she would agree to let go of the one she loves; she is devoted, sincere and impetuous in her love, and never drives her man to doubt or jealousy.

The Aries woman is inclined to work, and she can stand out in various fields and arenas. Once she believes in her work and grows used to it, it becomes hard for her to leave it, even for the sake of the one she loves. She has two enemies: emptiness and idleness. And although she is an excellent housewife who does all the household chores well, she regards this work as a duty and nothing more, and believes her purpose in life goes beyond it to something more useful and worthwhile.

Her health is excellent. She seldom complains of illness or fatigue. If something does happen to her, she expects care and attention from others – especially her husband. She is an ideal mother who looks after her children, takes care of their cleanliness and comfort, and joins them in play, outings and conversation, yet she imposes rules and discipline on them and does not pamper them excessively, so they grow soundly, with no trace of corruption or softness.

The Aries woman is emotional; she quickly loses control of herself and regains her calm just as quickly. The storm leaves in her no trace of bitterness, resentment or self-pity. Her smile is ever radiant and her optimism unbroken, though she is easily hurt because of her honesty and kindness, and in addition she has a great measure of excitement about her. If luck helps her and she meets the right man, she turns into a gentle, peaceful lamb, and her husband becomes one of the happiest of men.

The Aries Child

The Aries child is lively and active, and signs of a strong personality show in them from their first weeks. From the very beginning they strive to win attention and draw eyes to themselves. If someone enters their room without giving them a glance or a word, they protest by crying out or by all manner of movements.

This child is more exposed than others to certain accidents such as cuts, burns and bruises. The reason is their intense curiosity, which urges them to discover the unknown. They are early to walk and to speak, and early to show their independence and individuality, yet they are also distinguished by a warm heart and frank expression of their affection. They often rush toward those they love and hug and kiss them with force and enthusiasm. If they meet no response, they withdraw into themselves and become cold in appearance and heart.

With time, the Aries child develops an emotional temperament that expresses itself in an outburst now and then, though these storms are short-lived. They are generous by nature and share their toys and belongings with others. They lean toward laziness somewhat, without the slightest feeling of shame or embarrassment. Pressure or scolding does not work with them. The best remedy is encouragement and awakening the spirit of challenge within them.

Their imagination is wide and their dreams are many. Their emotion is forever aflame. Their soul holds idealism, naivety and toughness together. They play the role of leader well among their peers. They refuse to submit, and they invent ideas and games. A love of obedience must be cultivated in them from an early age, otherwise they will face various difficulties and extremely harsh lessons when they are older. Their tender heart constantly wonders how much others love them. They are also generous, spending freely and not hesitating to give a friend the last thing they own. When they receive gifts, they hurry to touch and examine them, refusing to leave them for later.

What torments this child and disturbs their peace most is the coldness and passivity of others. But their pain is temporary, for they are of a nature as hard as diamond. They love imagining and reading as much as they love exploring and real work. They need someone to instill responsibility in them, and once they find a good teacher, learning happens with astonishing speed and ease. They are led by the language of logic and honorable treatment. They need praise at home and at school, and they absorb positive methods. Idleness hurts them, while tireless work refreshes them. They adore the lives of true heroes, as well as tales of fantasy and magic. They need enough hours of sleep to regain their energy and vitality.

If this child is raised well, they grow into a great person who strives to realize the hardest and rarest of dreams.

The Aries Manager

The Aries man in a position of leadership is a serious, firm employer who cannot stand laziness and does not forgive neglect. If his employees want to win his favor, they must be persevering and driven, and treat the company as their own, giving it as much of their effort and devotion as he gives it himself. In return, he pays generous wages, promotes whoever deserves promotion, and overlooks lateness and absence when there are excuses. As generous and understanding as he is, he expects drive, devotion and honesty from others. If a mistake occurs, he voices harsh remarks and does not hesitate to impose some extra work if the common good calls for it. He gives lavishly on feasts and occasions and expects thanks and appreciation in return. But sweet talk and excessive praise seldom move him, especially if he senses that the speaker is seeking some benefit from it. Although he is strong in personality and firm in will, he feels a constant need for the affection and admiration of others, and it upsets him when they do not understand his conduct or agree with his principles and methods.

He is also daring, loves adventure, and pursues the most distant and idealistic goals. If he loses his money or misses an opportunity, he keeps his faith and optimism. Since innovation and initiative are in his nature, he values anyone who has these two virtues and does not hesitate to adopt proposals that come from others.

He is seldom overcome by exhaustion or illness. If he feels unwell or runs a fever, he forgets about it and heads to work as usual. Interestingly, immersing himself in work often relieves and heals him. In other words, his physical vigor springs from his psychological state and his morale, which are beyond compare.

Despite these fine qualities, the Aries needs the support and backing of others, and when he gets it, he secures happiness and stability for himself and for those who work with him.

The Aries Employee

Those born under Aries tend toward change and variety, and it is not unlikely that they will move from job to job and from company to company. But setting aside this tendency, which does little to endear them to employers, they are counted among the best employees and the most responsive to their superiors, provided those superiors treat them well and make good use of their talents.

The Aries employee shows great enthusiasm and drive at the start of their job, but soon boredom and indifference overtake them, and they begin inventing lies and excuses to escape the atmosphere and responsibilities of work. In this case, the employer – if they wish to avoid the problem from the outset – should assign the employee to an independent post that allows freedom of thought and initiative. Another thing that harms the Aries employee and keeps them from doing their duty is having a fixed system and set hours imposed on them. In fact, this type of person can accomplish in two hours what others accomplish in four or five. They should be excused if some rebelliousness or disorder shows in them. In return – and this is what speaks in their favor – it is not unlikely that they will keep working after hours and insist on taking on extra tasks outside their remit. So it can be said that the Aries employee was not created for monotony and routine work, and that their field is creativity and innovation. They do not regard money as their main goal, though it is the only means by which they secure the decent standard of living they seek. Their greatest ambition is to achieve success, and their first motivation is the encouragement of others and their appreciation of their qualities. Among the traits that provoke some people’s anger toward them are their meddling in what does not concern them and imposing their opinions on everyone without exception.

The most important fields in which they excel are public relations and work that requires movement and travel. They find it hard to take orders except from the few people they believe surpass them in intelligence and skill. For this reason they prefer to be at the top at all times. If that is not possible, they settle for less, provided others – especially their boss – make them feel that they are an important and necessary element in the company’s success. In that case they throw themselves into work with devotion, seriousness and self-sacrifice, like the sailor who refuses to leave a sinking ship.

They do not need to be scolded when they behave badly, because they are the first to see their own faults and try to apologize for them and make up for them with something better. And when they do their work well, they expect praise and are upset not to receive it. They feel a touch of jealousy toward their colleagues, and so it bothers them to see them receive recognition and admiration in their presence. They do not hesitate to leave their job for another as soon as they feel the atmosphere is no longer suitable and that staying has become difficult and wearying.

Whatever this person’s faults, their virtues and talents remain many times greater. So it is the duty of every employer to seek out people like them, whatever it costs, and to give to them generously, because what is spent on them is hardly noticeable compared with the work and services they provide.
